Case Study - Track side tree removal for First Engineering at Durham Train Station July 2007

Premier Tree Services were called in by First Engineering, who maintain the Durham Train Station site on behalf of Network Rail. Two large branches had fallen off a tree and were blocking a car park with some vehicles unable to leave.

The work involved the dismantling and removal of two large poplar trees from the side of the platform. A mobile crane was used to safely lift sections of the tree from the embankment to the car park below.

Premier Tree Services carried out the works on a Sunday to minimise disruption to the station and its users. During this period the car park was closed to the public for safety.
