Site clearance projects undertaken by Premier Tree Services
Turbine Business Park, Sunderland. Paxman Landscapes
Premier Tree Services were contracted to remove a total of 5 hectares of heavy vegetation and 22 mature trees adjacent to the A1231 / A19. This was to make way for a new development of hotels, leisure park and shopping and business facilities.
Phase 1
February 08 - clear vegetation outside of area believed to be occupied
by Great Crested Newts - approximately 2 hectares using tractor mounted
300hp mulching unit and excavator with grab.
Works were completed outside of the birds’ nesting season. However,
our ecologist was present each day to carry out on site assessments of
the area to be worked prior to commencement.
Phase 2
October 08 - Clear remaining 3 hectares of vegetation using 400hp tracked mulching unit. Due to the wet summer months the entire site had become waterlogged and site access and egress was difficult due other contractor now being present on site.

TT2 New Tyne Tunnel (north) Vegetation clearance. Hellens Group
Premier Tree Services were contracted to clear approximately 3 hectares of trees and vegetation from the north side of the new Tyne Tunnel Development at North Shields. The work involved the clearance of some large mature trees adjacent to the A1 / A19 and also required the clearance of 500m of steep roadside embankment.
